Personal story never before told
Previously lost archive material
This short film made back in 2012 is the first in a series of personal testimonies and interviews on Londoners at war. Ned Mcarthy fought in three wars by the age of 21, worked on digging the Metropolitan line extension and lived for many years in Westbourne Park. He was offered a pension by the Irish government but turned it down as he didn’t want payment for fighting for a cause.
