We created two films for the Science Museum about the sculpture ‘Self-Conscious Gene’, a statue of Rick Genest who is known in popular culture as ‘Zombie Boy’. The first film explores the relationship between medical science and art, an interconnectedness represented by the figure’s anatomical tattoos. In the second film, we captured wonderful moments where the artist, Marc Quinn, interacts with the sculpture throughout the process of its creation.

They form part of a broader project of twenty-four films we produced for the Science Museum’s new wing, the Wellcome Galleries, dedicated to the history of medicine. The galleries play host to the most significant medical artifacts in the world and we are thrilled to now play a part of the sharing of their history.
